Our Most Frequently Asked Questions

Surrounding Our First Aid Kits and IoT Data Experience

Can I use the open inputs on the DOC4 device?

Not currently. The DOC4’s associated with the First Aid Kits are dedicated to the specific First Aid Kit items to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience and the IoT Assist configuration tool. This will eliminate potential “false positive” alerts from non-commissioned sensors.

I have my own sensors - can I use them instead?

Not currently. The sensors associated with the First Aid Kits are dedicated to the specific First Aid Kit items to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience and the IoT Assist configuration tool. This will eliminate potential “false positive” alerts from non-commissioned sensors. If you believe you have a high-volume use case, please contact info@iotdiag.com for a potential IoT Clinic custom integration project.

Can I capture data from my PLC instead?

Not currently. The First Aid Kits are fixed to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience and the IoT Assist configuration tool. This will eliminate potential “false positive” alerts from non-commissioned sensors. It would be recommended to install an IoT system overtop of any sensor system that controls asset use to ensure those sensors are providing accurate data.

Do I have to use all the sensors in the kit?

Purchases cannot be modified at this time. You may elect not to use a sensor, but the package will still ship with the sensor included at full price. The IoT Data Experience will also remain unchanged, and the data blocks associated with the sensor not in use will show 0 values.

Can I customize my dashboard in the IoT Data Experience?

You can customize the time and date ranges of the data. You can also change the names of the devices and the alarm thresholds. You can also change user groups and which devices are visible for each dedicated user-type. You cannot customize the location, size, and availability of the data blocks. If you believe you have a high-volume use case, please contact info@iotdiag.com for a potential IoT Clinic custom dashboard project.

I'd rather use a different brand sensor than the one you're providing. Can I do that?

Not currently. The sensors associated with the First Aid Kits are dedicated to the specific First Aid Kit items to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience and the IoT Assist configuration tool. This will eliminate potential “false positive” alerts from non-commissioned sensors. If you believe you have a high-volume use case, please contact info@iotdiag.com for a potential IoT Clinic custom integration project.

If I purchase Fluid Health Kit 1, can I purchase and field-install the sensor from Fluid Health Kit 2 later?

Yes, but the sensor must be purchased from IoT Diagnostics. It is also important to note that the Kit will need to be changed inside the IoT Assist experience to Fluid Health Kit 1+2 to ensure accurate data transfer. This will result in the elimination of the original Fluid Health Kit device block and its data record unless downloaded and saved prior.

Do I have to download the IoT Assist app from the Android or iOS store?

Yes, for multiple reasons: Cybersecurity is very important to IoT Diagnostics and ensuring your devices and data are protected from bad 3rd party actors. Downloading, registering, and configuring your First Aid Kits and devices via IoT Assist ensures a proper record and protection of your device in-use. Secondly, IoT Assist is a critical tool for ensuring proper data setup and configuration in the IoT Data Experience and greatly reduces the time to do this manually. If you face company restrictions for downloading Apps from the App stores, please contact us at support@iotdiag.com and we can send you an alternative method for download.

What can I do if I don't see the First Aid Kit I'm looking for?

We’re constantly learning and building new solutions at IoT Diagnostics. Your feedback is important to us; please email info@iotdiag.com and let us know what you’d like to see.

Can you customize a First Aid Kit?

Not currently. The First Aid Kits are fixed to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience and the IoT Assist configuration tool. This will eliminate potential “false positive” alerts from non-commissioned sensors. If you believe you have a high-volume use case, please contact info@iotdiag.com for a potential IoT Clinic custom integration project.

Can you send First Aid Kit data to another system (CMMS, SCADA, etc.)?

Not currently. The First Aid Kits are fixed to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience and the IoT Assist configuration tool. This will eliminate potential “false positive” alerts from non-commissioned sensors. If you believe you have a high-volume use case, please contact info@iotdiag.com for a potential IoT Clinic custom integration project.

Do I have to use the cloud with First Aid Kits?

Yes. The First Aid Kits send data to the cloud to ensure accurate data is posting to the IoT Data Experience. We have worked with some companies to complete an “on-premise” network setup for our solutions, at a cost. If you believe you have a high-volume use case, please contact info@iotdiag.com for a potential IoT Clinic custom integration project.
